Vaccination against the hepatitis A virus (HAV) is especially recommended for men who have sex with men. The costs of the vaccination are covered by the basic health insurance. A combined vaccination against hepatitis A and B is also available.
Vaccination against the hepatitis B virus (HBV) is recommended for all persons. As a rule, three injections are necessary, administered within six months, in order to be protected against it for a lifetime. Since 1997, hepatitis B vaccination has been one of the vaccinations given in schools (secondary or vocational) (11-15 years). The costs of the vaccination are covered by the basic health insurance. A combined vaccination against hepatitis A and B is also available.
HPV vaccination is recommended for all persons before their first sexual contacts. According to the cantonal vaccination programme, the costs are covered at Checkpoint Zurich if you are under 27 years old and live in the canton of Zurich. HPV can provoke genital warts and/or certain cancers. They are transmitted through skin-to-skin contact.

- cis men with multiple male sexual partners
- trans individuals with multiple male sexual partners
- Occupational exposure
The vaccine provides strong protection against severe Mpox infections. The cost of the vaccination is covered by basic health insurance
