The campaign events are intended for groups of people at increased risk of HIV.

No PrEP history

The campaign testing is not the same as a PrEP follow-up appointment. If you are taking PrEP, please schedule an appointment here for a PrEP follow-up appointment.

Limited Number of Tests

The number of tests available for this campaign is limited. Appointments may fill up quickly, so be sure to book yours early. We’re committed to offering more discounted tests to our community.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The HIV and syphilis tests are free. The tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea cost CHF 60 and can be booked on-site. This price applies regardless of age.

For HIV and syphilis, a blood sample will be taken. For chlamydia and gonorrhea, swabs will be taken.

If you have symptoms, you cannot participate in the campaign. As soon as a test for sexually transmitted infections comes back positive or you already have symptoms, you will be cared for by doctors at Checkpoint Zurich. They will discuss the next steps with you and, depending on your symptoms and diagnosis, may even start your treatment right away. This is how we ensure that you receive the correct treatment for your condition as quickly as possible.

Please make an appointment with a doctor.

Men who have sex with men: Yes!
Trans People: Yes, both trans men and trans women. Non-binary and queer people are also welcome to participate, as long as they have sex with men.
Lesbian, bisexual, and queer women: Unfortunately, no.
Heterosexual cis women: Unfortunately, no.
Heterosexual cis men: Unfortunately, no—unless they have sex with men.

Unfortunately, not everyone can take advantage of the discounted tests. This is because the Federal Office of Public Health has identified certain groups as particularly vulnerable to HIV. However, we will continue to offer our regular STI tests throughout the campaign. If you’re unsure whether you’re eligible for the discounted tests, please ask our staff.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through November 25, 26.

We prefer payment by card. During the campaign, you can pay with Maestro, credit cards, and Twint. Unfortunately, we cannot accept PostFinance cards during the campaign. And, of course, cash is also accepted.

Like many other countries, Switzerland has set a goal of eliminating new HIV transmissions by 2030. From a public health perspective, HIV—along with syphilis—is the most significant concern, which is why testing for these conditions is offered free of charge. Learn more at drgay.ch/2030.

The tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea (the clap) for CHF 60.00 are also available at a discounted rate.
